Top Ten Tuesday #2 - Things you read when you need something light and fun

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they list a new topic for a top ten list. This week it's about things to read when you need something light and fun.

I mostly read YA books but for this category there are some chick lit and adult books that I turn to when I just want to LOL. Really anything from Sophie Kinsella, Christopher Moore, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips is where I go to laugh and have fun.  Here are my top 10.

**Clicking on the cover will take you to Goodreads. The title will take you to Amazon**

Christopher Moore has a way of combining the supernatural and comedy. I love every one of his books but these here are my #1 picks.

You Suck (A Love Story, #2)

Bite Me (A Love Story, #3)

A Dirty Job

Sophie Kinsella, there is so much to be said about her writing. She is absolutely amazing! I have yet to read a book of hers I didn't enjoy but these are my two favorites. Remember Me was the first book of hers I read so I'm a bit partial to it.

Kelley Armstrong is one of my favorite YA paranormal authors. The Darkest Powers series is made up of great characters. Chloe was so cute and sarcastic, maybe it's the fact that I too am petite. This is one series I was sad to see come to a close so soon.

The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1)

Jennifer Crusie has many books out, this was the first I read and still remains my favorite, even though I've read a few others that were good too.
#8. Bet Me

Bet Me

Laurie Viera Rigler, both books in this series were hilarious but this one wins over the other hands down.

Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict (Jane Austen Addict, #1)

Susan Elizabeth Phillips is funny and does not hold back when it comes to intimate scenes. I really enjoy her writing and her female characters.

What I Did for Love (Wynette, Texas #5)

What's your list?

  1. I always wondered about these Christopher Moore books, and I LOVE Sophie Kinsella! Great list!

  2. Hmmm, very interesting reads! I haven't read any of them, but I love the covers!!!

  3. Sophie Kinsella is always a lot of fun - and I absolutely ADORE Kelley Armstrong. I've never read any Christopher Moore but they look fantastic. Hope you have a great week :)
